WHERE
Carmenkeramik was founded in Almería, a beautiful city on the south coast of Spain.
As you travel through this province, it is impossible to not be enchanted by the landscape, as you cross through arid desert before reaching the crystalline waters of the Mediterranean Sea, with its delicious cuisine, hot sun and spontaneous and friendly people.

WHO
Behind this project, there is a small team who is learning on the job. The office is pretty cluttered, and the dog likes to chew on the boxes. However, even in this relaxed atmosphere we have met and exceeded every challenge put before us by pushing ourselves one step further to get this idea off the ground.
.
Hi! I’m María González, designer and the founder of Carmenkeramik. Since 2017, I have lived and worked as an architect in Munich, Germany. The city has given me the perspective I sought and our brand is partly the outcome of my experiences there.

Without Inés our project would never have come this far. There's lots of work still to do and she’s ready and willing, as well as very able.
Antonio José has looked after the website since day one, so relax!
Jerónimo is the hands and amazing skill behind Carmenkeramik.
Carmen, Rafa and Trufo bring the coffee, and we can’t live without coffee.

HOW
We strongly believe that our everyday dishes have absolutely no reason to be boring or commonplace.
Far from identikit sets and series, here at Carmenkeramik we want to combine creativity and craftsmanship to celebrate our daily lives. Ultimately, these dishes have been created to be enjoyed, not just to be stuck on a shelf. I hope you will love using them as much as I’ve enjoyed the entire process of creating them.
Each and every piece is made by hand under the hot Almería sun. The result is rustic, functional and practical tableware. Due to the manual nature of the process, the pieces may have slight irregularities. This lends our pieces great character, as no two are quite the same. All of our pieces are produced slowly and meticulously in Almería. Our products are 100% Made in Spain, with local, km 0 suppliers. We support the Zero Waste Europe initiative.
In this 2020 collection –our very first – we wanted to offer minimalist, simple and fun combinations with no unnecessary embellishments. These designs don’t come from an analysis of current trends. They are inspired by the landscape in which we are immersed and surrounded every day, a medley of three colours that will surely be a show stopper on your table.

Welcome to everybody.
Maria Gonzalez.
